solar architectures
Achmed Khammas joined in on our meeting feb 3rd 2020, to give an overview about solar architectures. Starting with sunhouses, shingles, windows we talked about different forms and materials of solar energy production. Here is a short protocol on main discussion points:
solarhouses are buildings that were built from the beginning on "with sun in mind" so to say, designed by sun. either passively by planning the architecture and windows of the house according to collect heat or actively with solar energy generation.
--> see here for an overview of solarhouses in a historic perspective until now: http://www.buch-der-synergie.de/c_neu_html/c_04_28_sonne_sonnenhaeuser_09_1900.htm
how to actually decrease temperature within a city by painting roofs white, so that they reflect sunlight. Quickly talked about the "white roof movement"
solar tiles -mostly out of aesthetic reasons -we need a follow-up research on how they actually connect to each other, standards and size/power/costs ratios
--> overview here: http://www.buch-der-synergie.de/c_neu_html/c_04_28_sonne_sonnenhaeuser_13_schindel.htm
solar windows
current windows are "stupid windows", just get dirty nothing more -thin-film layers and more new technology makes it possible to use windows for solar energy generation, dim lights at the same time and more
